Planes are Back, some restrictions 8/10/16

The planes are coming back. This time to fight the fire up Crandall. The lake will be partially closed. It will be closed from Gibbs Bridge to a line from Spring Creek to Rattlesnake Creek. The rest of the lake will be open. If you see a plane approaching the water anywhere, please head for shore. This restriction will be in effect starting today at 5:00 until further notice. We will keep you posted.

The Hunter Peak Fire grew to 1,000 acres on Wednesday.
Evacuation of County Road XUX and the Squaw Creek area remains in place. No structures have been lost, but 95 structures are currently threatened by the fire.
Super scoopers returned Wednesday to support the Hunter Peak Fire. They'll be dipping out of Buffalo Bill Reservoir once again. The speed limit along the reservoir will be posted 45 mph with no stopping along the North Fork Highway. The reservoir will also be closed west of the line running between Eagle Point and Spring Creek.
Resources on scene or being ordered include: 3 hotshot crews, 2 type 2 initial attack hand crews, a strike force of engines, 2 type 1 helicopters, 1 type 3 helicopter, and 2 CL 415 Amphibious Water-Scooping Aircraft. 
A Type 1 Incident Management Team will take command of the Hunter Peak Fire at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11.
